New Universal Theme Park Details Revealed for Epic Universe

It will be the first theme park built from the ground up in Florida since Universal's Islands of Adventure arrived in 1999. It will be the largest theme park investment in Orlando in 20 years, creating over 14,000 jobs for the people of Florida.

Something epic is coming to the Universal Orlando Resort.

"And we are especially grateful for Universal's partnership in improving Shingle Creek, which plays a critical role in serving the Everglades", said Gov. Ron DeSantis, who also attended the announcement.

You can see some tweets from the announcement below that include some more details about the layout.

There have been rumors that we might see more rides inspired by Harry Potter, as well as Universal's library of classic movie monsters like Frankenstein and Dracula, but as of now we have no confirmation of what we'll see in this park other than the concept art that was released above. Universal describes this new park as one that will introduce an "entirely new level of experience that forever changes theme park entertainment". Other rumored areas revolve around the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Jurassic World franchises, but again right now nothing is confirmed and these rumors could end up being false. Epic Universe will be a few miles from the existing resort, south of Sand Lake Road and east of Universal Boulevard.

More details about Epic Universe will be announced in the near future. "It is an investment in our business, our industry, our team members and our community".

Earlier this summer, Universal also debuted a new ride based on the Harry Potter character, Hagrid, which had fans waiting for hours to ride it. Now Disney, Universal and even SeaWorld with a Sesame Street partnership, have created comprehensive lands of themed rides, shops and dining.

Thursday's major announcement comes just weeks before the August 29 grand opening of "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge", an expansive new land at Disney's Hollywood Studios based on the Star Wars franchise. An opening date has not been announced. He also found that construction of the new park alone will contribute a total of $11.5 billion in direct and indirect economic benefit into the Florida economy. In fact, the concept art does appear to have some elements of leaked designs for the Nintendo theme park attraction.
