Redskins not trading 7-time Pro Bowler Trent Williams

As the team readies to host the Cincinnati Bengals in the second game of the preseason, they'll do so without longtime left tackle Trent Williams - still locked in a holdout situation with the All-Pro.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, via Twitter, that Washington will not trade Williams.

The Redskins have been fining Williams $40,000 per missed training camp to attempt to lure him back on the team. Though teams have "teams repeatedly have called about Williams", per the report, they have been rebuffed.

Because of that, it seems unlikely Washington would be able to get a first-rounder in addition to another selection for Williams, although stranger things have happened.

The 31-year-old Williams still has two years remaining on the five-year, $68 million contract he signed back in 2015.

"Since Day 1 of camp you notice his absence is impacting us tremendously".

Peterson says that above all, it's hampering the progress of rookie first-round pick Dwayne Haskins.

"I think it's making Dwayne Haskins have to think more, not process things as calmly". It was finally surgically removed this offseason. Matter of fact, I think it's impacting all of our quarterbacks.

A little hate won't force the Redskins into a trade. Quarterback Alex Smith dealt with an infection following surgery to fix his broken leg and running back Derrius Guice dealt with multiple infections after surgery to fix a torn ACL.

It will soon start costing Williams money, however.
