Watch the First Trailer for Greta Gerwig’s LITTLE WOMEN

The first look at Greta Gerwig's latest adaptation of Little Women is finally here.

The "Lady Bird" director's sophomore film is based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, and the trailer, released Tuesday, begins on a meta note.

The first trailer for Greta Gerwig's "Little Women" hit the internet Tuesday at noon, giving audiences their first look at the star-studded project, which spent months filming in MA past year. Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh and Eliza Scanlen play the four sisters-taking on the roles of Jo March, Meg March, Amy March and Beth March, respectively.

Chris Cooper, Louis Garrel, Tracy Letts, James Norton and Bob Odenkirk co-star in the pic produced by Amy Pascal, Denise Di Novi and Robin Swicord.

Ronan portrays an aspiring writer who is working on a novel about her life and sisters, who are determined to live their life on their own terms.

"And if the main character is a girl, make sure she's married at the end".

But Jo has greater ambitions for her literary heroines than just marriage.

"They were just people". Meryl Streep plays Aunt March, while Laura Dern plays Marmee and Timothée Chalamet features as Laurie. Chalamet will star opposite Ronan (again) as her neighbor and love interest, Laurie.
