Apple's iPhone 11 camera interface mimics Instagram

On the front there is a 12MP selfie camera. Apple claims the iPhone 11 Pro battery to last up to 4 hours longer than iPhone XS while the iPhone 11 Pro Max is claimed to lasts up to 5 hours longer than iPhone XS Max.

The annual hardware event at Apple's Cupertino, Calif., headquarters Tuesday featured few major announcements, with chief executive Tim Cook showing off iPhones with better cameras, faster processors and longer battery life - along with a high-end smartphone, rebranded the iPhone Pro, that will cost $1,519 in Canada.

It's a small shift, but it shows that Apple is responding to the ways people are taking photos and videos in their everyday lives.

The new iPhone 11 will have two back cameras, including an ultra wide-angle lens and the next generation of microchips, the A13. The biggest difference between the new iPhones, as far as the camera is concerned, is that the iPhone 11 has two main cameras, while the Pro models have three each. But the name certainly is not. QuickTake is a new feature that lets you tap and hold the shutter button from the Photos section of the camera to take a short video without swiping over to the Video section. As in every device since the iPhone X, expect this chip to power the new handset's AR and AI capabilities to new heights. And yes that includes using the front camera at the same time.

More striking changes can be found in the new iPhone 11 Pro ($999 and up) and bigger 11 Pro Max ($1,099 and up), the pair replacing the XS and XS Max.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 packs either the Snapdragon 855 chip in the United States or the Exynos 9820 in the rest of the world - both powerful processors, and the best you can get in an Android phone outside of the odd mid-year upgrade Snapdragon 855 Plus.

Apple has also sweetened its deal by offering buyers of an iPhone, iPad or Mac a free year of streaming TV service, opening the service potentially to hundreds of millions of viewers in more than 100 countries.

"I'm always excited when I see new evolutions in the craft", Baker said, adding the new tools will help in "reducing the number of takes and giving me more options in post [production]". Both the phones are rated IP68 (maximum depth of 4 metres up to 30 minutes). With that feature, you cannot only charge your phone with a wireless charging pad, but charge another phone or device by stacking it on top of your phone.

The iPhone 11 Pro is the most refined Apple phone yet, as much as the Galaxy S10 is the among the best version of Samsung's line. Which is as much to say that neither have made great strides ahead of their predecessors, but they're the top choices available for each series if you don't want to go "Plus" or "Max". Anyway, here's how this is better than the iPhone 11. But it eschews a single rear camera for a pair of wide and ultra-wide 12-megapixel rear lenses.
