I'm just up on everybody and everybody's up on me, and I'm trying to figure out how to trust that or whatever.

Greenberg also said that although Kelly will be in general population, which is normally considered more unsafe, security measures will be put in place to ensure that Kelly is safe. Kelly was arrested in Chicago on July 11.

Furthermore, federal prosecutors also notified the judge that said Kelly was not completely truthful about not having any human contact while in solitary confinement.

He had previously been held in the Special Housing Unit, a section for at-risk prisoners. "I was like, hmmm, too many people up on you and I done seen too many movies, you know, and it's just ..." Last week, Greenberg had filed a request for Kelly's release from SHU because he was being subjected to "cruel and unusual punishment" due in part to his celebrity status.

Prosecutors pointed out that R. Kelly was recorded on a jailhouse phone initially turning down an opportunity to go into general population out of fear for his own life. Savage's parents have alleged she was held against her will by Kelly. He will remain in custody until that date of April 2020.

R. Kelly, 52, who appeared in court in an orange jumpsuit flanked by his attorneys, did not speak but managed to nod at his supporters.

A judge Wednesday set an April 27 trial date in R. Kelly's federal case in Chicago that accuses the R&B star of child pornography and obstruction of justice.

The next hearing for the R&B star will be on September 18, he is now set to remain in jail until the trial begins.
