The new hybrid Sián is the most powerful auto Lamborghini's ever produced

Lamborghini has unveiled a new concept auto that points to a future where the iconic Lambo V12 has a place along with electric hybrid technology.

With this powertrain fitted, the Sian can reach 62 miles per hour in under 2.8 seconds, in effect making it the Lamborghini with the fastest acceleration time ever made.

Oh yeah - it's also the most powerful Lamborghini ever produced. Sian is the fastest-accelerating Lamborghini ever, going from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.8 seconds. The auto is a concept for now, but it is already greenlit for production with only 63 units to be built.

And, surprise surprise, they're already all sold out! The electric system, supercapacitor and e-motor weighs only 34 kg, with alert readers recognizing this means a remarkable weight-to-power ratio of 1.0 kg/hp. The V12 is rated at 785 horses, while the e-motor chips in for 34 ponies. Integrated into the gearbox facilitates immediate response and improved performance. The electric motor itself also supports low-speed maneuvering, enabling the Sián to execute reversing and parking under electric power alone. "Its Sián moniker, meaning "flash or lightning" in Bolognese dialect, denotes the first electrification of a Lamborghini production vehicle and confirms our strong connection to the territory in which we operate", said Lamborghini boss Stefano Domenicali.

At its heart, the 217mph Sian - which gets its name from the Bolognese word for flash and lightning - uses Lambo's naturally aspirated 6.5-litre twelve with a peak of 785hp at 8,500rpm, making it 15hp more powerful than the SVJ's engine.

Despite adding the e-motor and the supercapacitor, the car's weight has not increased by much.
