Manchester United set deadline to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

It is believed that the game with Liverpool following the worldwide break could be make or break for Solskjaer as the likes of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are all expected to be back for that fixture after missing the Newcastle match.

Manchester United will attempt to offload Alexis Sanchez for as little as £25m next summer, according to reports in the British media.

Both the Times and the Daily Mail say the ex-United striker is anxious a big defeat to Liverpool in a fortnight could cost him his job.

At the very least, if Solskjaer is sacked, United probably wouldn't turn to Nagelsmann just yet.

Fallen Premier League giants Manchester United will have to part with the sum of seven million pounds as the severance package for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if they have to relieve him of his duties.

Meanwhile, Manchester United's stuttering start to the season continued on Sunday when they suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Newcastle United to leave them with just two wins in eight Premier League games.

United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward publicly backed Solskjaer a few weeks ago but the team's form shows no sign of improving any time soon.

From here it's hard to see how things are turned around and public pressure is growing, even though the club are happy to continue backing Solskjaer.

Jose Mourinho's fate was sealed last December when Liverpool beat United at Anfield 3-1 and the pressure is now on Solskjaer to ensure his side are not embarrassed at Old Trafford.
