Starbucks Unveils Holiday Cup Designs for 2019

Four new seasonal cups were revealed on Twitter Wednesday morning, and they are all very merry.

Jen Quotson, vice president of Starbucks Creative, said the holiday design this year was created to evoke small moments of joy for customers and partners, with designs that are fun, festive and "uniquely Starbucks". Any customers who return to stores with the reusable cup between November 7 and January 7 will be rewarded with 50 cents off a grande holiday beverage, such as the chain's Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte or Eggnog Latte.

Starbucks and the holidays go together like coffee and cream.

Starbucks releases its 2019 Christmas Red Cups in North America, continuing a 22-year tradition.

Earlier this year, Starbucks began testing new "greener" cups. Each cup design has a unifying green stripe on the back, finishing the cup like a ribbon.

This dark green cup is also wrapped in the phrase "merry coffee", except this time, it's diagonal and the letters look quirky because they're slanted in different directions.

Last but not least, the Candy Cane Stripes cup is a big, bold design showcasing thick red and white stripes.

The menu will embody traditional favorites such because the Peppermint Mocha and the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha. It's also selling a number of seasonal foods, including a turkey and stuffing panini, sugar plum danish and gingerbread loaf, among others. In 2015, Starbucks launched a two-tone ombre cup, which sparked a response from Joshua Feuerstein, a Christian internet evangelist.

Which is what Alaska Airlines is presenting passengers who carry a Starbucks holiday break cup during the boarding approach for flights from November 7-10.

Holiday beverages and cups are returning to Starbucks Thursday.
